Thanksgiving
Nov. 25th, 2005 09:00 pmSo, Thanksgiving was good.
This year, Alex and I hosted the family Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, we didn't get Alex's sister, brother-in-law, or father, due to unavoidable circumstances (work, mostly). Still, we had a nice, cozy six for dinner--me, Alex, Alex's mom, my parents, and my brother.
Alex and I cleaned the house. Dude.
But back to Thanksgiving. We had a highly non-traditional holiday, foodwise. We spent most of the day cooking, and our menu contained:
Pear Salad (pears, toasted pecans, sweet balsamic vinegar, and parmesan curls)
Beef Wellington
Roasted Fingerling Potatoes
Glazed Chippolinis (yummy Italian onions)
Broccoli Salad (provided by my mother)
Molten Volcano Cake
We were very full.
We are also hosting Christmas this year, I think. That should be fun, especially if we can keep the house clean and not spaz out the week before. Whee!
Thanksgiving was very relaxed and low-stress. We have very few leftovers (roasted potatoes). This makes me happy.
My writing powers fail me. It is time for pie.
