Bah. My head feels weird. I went to sleep with a horrible headache last night, and both Alex and I woke up with remarkably tenacious headaches this morning. Because we did not wish to aggravate the pain in our craniums with hammering and sawing of boards, we have decided to put off the wood floor one more day and relax today. At the moment, my head doesn't hurt (thanks to medication), but it feels heavy and a bit dizzy. I feel like my thoughts are fading in and out, staying just out of reach where I can't get a grip on them. I definitely don't feel at my sharpest today.

Alex is concerned that I have a fever. I had a shiver/chill earlier, and I'm definitely not feeling so hot. Bleh.

Yesterday, I had several interesting, thoughtful ideas on what to ponder in my LJ, but today, all of those wonderful ideas are lost in the mist that envelops my brain. Perhaps we'll get breaks in the clouds tomorrow and those ideas will be revealed.

For those who don't know (and for those who care), I have essentially given up on my vampire story and put it away. I'm sure I'll use some of the characters in future tales (heck, I might even use the plot!), but the current incarnation of the story is getting far too cliche' and Buffy the Vampire Slayer-like. I do, however, have another, far more original story in the works, and I hope to post snippets of it here.

RP Stuff! )

Well, I think that's enough. I'm going to go rest my poor head and maybe work on that new story for a while. Therefore, I shall leave you with these quizzes! )

Toodles!

There's this program. It is a good program. It is called Poser. However, I am getting sick of it, and I haven't even tried using it yet.

When I first heard of Poser, I thought, "Wow, what a great artists' tool! You could pose people in the comfort of your own home, observe light and shade, and not have to hire a real, live model for your life sketches! What a great way to assist people in creating REAL ART!!!" I am singularly disappointed.

As always, this is just my opinion. I am simply aggravated by all of the "art" I'm seeing out there nowadays that is obviously "created" in Poser. The poses tend to be stiff and unrealistic, and the backgrounds tend to be confusing and hurtful to my eyes. I have no problem with someone creating a difficult pose in Poser and then modifying the picture to make it their own. I do, however, have a problem with people doing artwork exclusively in Poser without doing a line of their own work. It's very aggravating to those of us who actually work to create spiffy-looking drawings, even if our drawings don't look as polished. (Note how I leave my own art out of this.) There are many artists out on the 'net who don't use Poser and create work that looks more polished than anything Poser could produce, simply because they practice. Graaah.

Okay, I'm sleepy, and this rant isn't as coherent as I'd like. But I'm severely irritated as I keep hitting the "random" button in Elfwood and keep seeing all this Poser "art" coming up. *clicks again* Ah...lovely original art. This makes me happy. Now, I'm going to stop behaving in this highly cranky way and see about doing some writing/sleeping/both.
