Sick Day...
Aug. 13th, 2003 02:58 pmBah. My head feels weird. I went to sleep with a horrible headache last night, and both Alex and I woke up with remarkably tenacious headaches this morning. Because we did not wish to aggravate the pain in our craniums with hammering and sawing of boards, we have decided to put off the wood floor one more day and relax today. At the moment, my head doesn't hurt (thanks to medication), but it feels heavy and a bit dizzy. I feel like my thoughts are fading in and out, staying just out of reach where I can't get a grip on them. I definitely don't feel at my sharpest today.
Alex is concerned that I have a fever. I had a shiver/chill earlier, and I'm definitely not feeling so hot. Bleh.
Yesterday, I had several interesting, thoughtful ideas on what to ponder in my LJ, but today, all of those wonderful ideas are lost in the mist that envelops my brain. Perhaps we'll get breaks in the clouds tomorrow and those ideas will be revealed.
For those who don't know (and for those who care), I have essentially given up on my vampire story and put it away. I'm sure I'll use some of the characters in future tales (heck, I might even use the plot!), but the current incarnation of the story is getting far too cliche' and Buffy the Vampire Slayer-like. I do, however, have another, far more original story in the works, and I hope to post snippets of it here.
Besides all the other projects I have going, I still have to write up the next part of my Swashbuckling campaign. Last game, which was last Saturday, the rather last-minute adventure I had written up lasted about half of the gaming session, and then I had to improvise the rest. Luckily, no one except Alex noticed, and everybody still had fun. Nevertheless, I don't want to get caught flat-footed again. Next time, I'm going to have a lot more adventure written up and a lot more storyline and encounters set up. At the moment I have a basic idea of where I want the characters to go, but I need to work out more details--especially since I left them exploring a secret passageway to a hideout that I made up on the spot! I still have to figure out precisely whose hideout it is, why it's there, and what it has to do with the adventurers' goals! Bad, unprepared GM Elfie. No bikkit. Don't do this again. Although, admittedly, it will be fun answering these questions and figuring stuff out...
Well, I think that's enough. I'm going to go rest my poor head and maybe work on that new story for a while. Therefore, I shall leave you with these

You're a Human! Inquisitive and mellow, you're an
explorer at heart.

You are a two-winged Guardian Angel!
Wandering the realms of the mortals you often bear
the form of a mere human. It is your task to
guard your charge against the perils of the
shadows. You are good-natured and friendly,
trusted by everyone, helpful and kind. But
when in danger you show a fierce protective
side that often surprises your adversaries.
