Arrrrrrrrre you ready, mateys?
Sep. 17th, 2003 08:45 pmTalk Like A Pirate Day is only two days away! Are you ready? I'd be interested in finding out how many people are going to celebrate, and how.
*pause, blink blink*
I'd be interested in finding out how I'm going to celebrate. I haven't made any plans yet. Maybe I'll just talk like a pirate. If I remember. I'll have to download the "Pirate Lingo" onto my Palm or something. ^_^;; Anyway.
I picked up an interesting book yesterday. It's called Booty: Girl Pirates on the High Seas. It's really quite fascinating. There are several historically documented Elizabethan pirates. And we're not talking Sir Walter Raleigh-type pirates. We're talking PIRATES. Apparently, pirating was a family business for some people. Fun stuff. I may have to rethink my persona to make her a wee bit more documentable/believable. Arrr.
In other news, Alex and I have lined up/coordinated our school schedules and figured out what breaks we have. I'll probably be going to the fitness center at 8:00 am every morning--Alex has to be at class by then, but I don't. I know better than to try to go to the fitness center in the afternoon--I'll be exhausted and think of tons more excuses not to go. However, I need to work out and exercise a lot more. Gotta be trim! Gotta be strong! Gotta fit into my old pants! Rah rah raaaaaarrrrrrrrr! I shall have to be disciplined, though...heaven knows the Starbucks will be sooo much more tempting than the gym in the morning.
We still have a lot more scheduling to do, what with social obligations, homework, and alone time. Alone time hasn't needed to be scheduled during the summer, because we've managed to grab quite a bit of it. Our 6-month anniversary is in 5 days...yikies! I was going to plan something extra-special! Of course, we'll probably be on the road that day--going to California this Sunday and coming back on Friday, I think. That'll be a nice trip. Still, must think of something special for next Monday! Hrrrm...
Mmm...I've been having a ton of inspiration sleeting through my head lately. I made the mistake of purchasing the Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack. Good music. Beautiful. Inspiring. Yesh.
I also went back through my LJ and read all of the entries. It was kind of odd--like going back in time. I noticed that my LJ entries used to be a lot more entertaining. Maybe I used to consume more sugar? Does sugar make things more entertaining? I don't know.
I took pictures of my friend's kittens yesterday. I'll need to upload them to webspace. Yes. I need to get my college webspace set up soon.
Well, I should scoot. Remember to celebrate Talk Like A Pirate Day! Until then, remember: Fortune favors the bold. (I love that line!)
