Dear People of America:
It is August. Christmas isn't for another FOUR MONTHS. I am not Martha Stewart, and I haven't even started thinking about to whom I am sending Christmas cards. Knock it off, already.
Sincerely,
Me

...
...when do I get my Christmas card? :D *runs away cackling, yet in morbid fear of the MegaBeet*

Date: 2006-08-25 05:47 pm (UTC)*gigglesnicker* Coincidences are funny. This letter was brought on by the fact that Costco already has their Christmas cards and wrapping paper out. It made my brain go "sproing!"

Date: 2006-08-25 04:39 pm (UTC)(no, i'm not kidding... if there's any crafting/chocolate making to be done for Christmas this year, i'm behind already. Crud. The play/Relay for Life/Nanowrimo ML planning/Headless has eaten my brains. Arrrrgh!)

Date: 2006-08-25 06:40 pm (UTC)I mean, I can understand places like Joanne's having all of their Christmas stuff out--after all, if you're crafting your Christmas presents, you have to get an early start. But Costco?!

Date: 2006-08-25 06:55 pm (UTC)i might do some crafting this year, but it's going to be on an individual basis - none of this "i think i'll make socks on US1 needles for all 10 of my female relatives!" nonsense... i might make a hat here and felted slippers there. Mostly i think we're going the chocolate route this year, which can be started in November but still requres some pre-planning since we need time to mail everything this year. (Justin's job means no travel for Thanksgiving/Christmas >_< )

Date: 2006-08-25 08:50 pm (UTC)Hee hee. I think that, if I were going to do that, I would have had to start planning last Christmas.
Sorry to hear about the no travel thing, even though it is still great that Justin has a job that he likes. *snugsnugs* We still absolutely need to come and visit you soon, before school starts again. Just gotta figure out when...

Date: 2006-08-25 07:02 pm (UTC)We had Billy bass on year. I could have committed crimes that could get me in big trouble. ::shudder::
I agree the holiday would be great if commercialization wasn't involved, and if my family would chill out.

Date: 2006-08-25 08:48 pm (UTC)Family can be a bit stressful during the holidays, too. *nodnods*

Date: 2006-08-29 09:28 pm (UTC)And yes, commercialization of major holidays is Teh Suck. Makes it feel less like a holiday and more like a 'shop til you drop and don't feel guilty' spree.
I mean, the folks here at my job now have to work on the holidays so people can buy their new flashy over-priced cars.
