Dear People of America:

It is August. Christmas isn't for another FOUR MONTHS. I am not Martha Stewart, and I haven't even started thinking about to whom I am sending Christmas cards. Knock it off, already.

Sincerely,
Me

Costco already has a lot of their Christmas cards and wrapping paper out. *shakes head*

*chuckles* I see.... so...does that mean you hate me if I say I've been working on Christmas since last year's?

Sooooo...

...when do I get my Christmas card? :D *runs away cackling, yet in morbid fear of the MegaBeet*

I saw the same episode. You SURE it wasn't just a re-run? I'm pretty sure it was.

*blinkblinks* Huh? I didn't realize that they were running Martha's Christmas episode! *sporfle* I merely referred to her because she's the only person I could think of who might be making her list and checking it twice at this time of year, other than Santa Claus.

*gigglesnicker* Coincidences are funny. This letter was brought on by the fact that Costco already has their Christmas cards and wrapping paper out. It made my brain go "sproing!"

Christmas? But... wasn't it just Christmas a couple of months ago?

I'm not ready to be bombarding with advertising campaigns yet!

one thing about costco... they're pretty good at stocking up by august.. i guess that's how they keep their employees busy.. :P all year round.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! Rawr. I think the employees are busy enough without dragging all the Christmas stuff out four months early.

Holy crud... Jeez, four months? i have to pull my act together.

(no, i'm not kidding... if there's any crafting/chocolate making to be done for Christmas this year, i'm behind already. Crud. The play/Relay for Life/Nanowrimo ML planning/Headless has eaten my brains. Arrrrgh!)

You're busy, busy. *snugs* Are you making all of your Christmas presents this year?

I mean, I can understand places like Joanne's having all of their Christmas stuff out--after all, if you're crafting your Christmas presents, you have to get an early start. But Costco?!

As long as Costco isn't playing music yet... i suppose some folks like to shop early. *g*

i might do some crafting this year, but it's going to be on an individual basis - none of this "i think i'll make socks on US1 needles for all 10 of my female relatives!" nonsense... i might make a hat here and felted slippers there. Mostly i think we're going the chocolate route this year, which can be started in November but still requres some pre-planning since we need time to mail everything this year. (Justin's job means no travel for Thanksgiving/Christmas >_< )

Hee hee. I think that, if I were going to do that, I would have had to start planning last Christmas.

Sorry to hear about the no travel thing, even though it is still great that Justin has a job that he likes. *snugsnugs* We still absolutely need to come and visit you soon, before school starts again. Just gotta figure out when...

That's nuthin' back when I worked a the craft store we were behind schedule if we didn't get the X-mas crap in by June. If any one has ever wondered why I don't like X-mas there's your answer. After 7 months you'd get disgusted before the actual holiday as well :P

I absolutely love Christmas as a holiday, but I hate the cheesy commercialization/gimmicks. I do not need a farting Santa, dammit! And no one on God's green earth needs a singing fish!

We had Billy bass on year. I could have committed crimes that could get me in big trouble. ::shudder::
I agree the holiday would be great if commercialization wasn't involved, and if my family would chill out.

I hate that fish. I think I hate the singing deer even more, though. I generally detest all movement-activated singing/dancing/rapping/chirping/belching/whatever holiday-related things.

Family can be a bit stressful during the holidays, too. *nodnods*

Oh, there's this silly, silly, silly woman I work with who brings in this singing snow man EVERY YEAR! It drives me batty!

And yes, commercialization of major holidays is Teh Suck. Makes it feel less like a holiday and more like a 'shop til you drop and don't feel guilty' spree.

I mean, the folks here at my job now have to work on the holidays so people can buy their new flashy over-priced cars.
