Academic Update first:
I'm meeting with the Head of the Medieval Studies Department on Monday. It looks like, no matter what, I'm going to be finishing my double major. However, I'm going to go the Extremely Relaxed Route--graduate school (assuming I get in) starts in January. I'm not going this January, but next January. That would give me the time to take two classes next term, two class Spring term, and then two classes the term after that. In that way, I'd finish up in time for January (and there's always the chance that I'd take three classes Spring Term and only one Fall Term next year). In any case, I get an easy term next term, still graduate in time for graduate school, and still get my double major. Of course, this still depends on my meeting with the Department Head and a meeting with someone at the graduate school of my choice. I need more application information.
Evil Plan Update:
Well, it's actually not that evil. My dad's birthday is on November 28. I made him a Harry Potter scarf--he is a huge Harry Potter fan. I was hoping to get it to him by today so that he could wear it to see the movie...though, on second thought, I doubt he's going this weekend. In any case, I'm going to send him an e-mail that tells him that I received a package that I think belongs to him, and that I think that the owl got lost. Then I'll give it to him on Tuesday. I also wrote a letter that goes with it that's signed "Arthur Weasley." Hee. Dad will be the envy of all his coworkers. (They're all Harry Potter fans, too.)
Today, I get to go and do research. Yay. I'm looking forward to getting evil, evil final papers done.

Date: 2005-11-18 04:54 pm (UTC)On the Knitting community there was HP scarf post that was just hilarious - her friend picked the yarn, and chose Slytherin colors in metallic sparkly fun fur, which lead to all kinds of wonderful conversations about how we know Snape secretly wears a scarf just like it. The mental images are priceless.

Plus, it's Draco who has that secret scarf. He lives in constant fear of being found out.

Date: 2005-11-18 05:00 pm (UTC)I actually do plan to make him a sweater eventually. When I was young (fourteen or so), I borrowed this bright red sweater that my grandmother made for my dad. (No worries; I had permission.) Of course, then I washed it...and dried it...and it shrunk so much there was no way it would fit anyone in my family. My goal since then has been to knit Dad an identical sweater as an apology.
And thank you!
