GO SEE THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO. It's just that good. I went and saw it yesterday with Alex, and it was faboo. Swordplay, romance, swashbuckling, betrayal, great escapes, hidden treasure, smugglers, thieves, secrets, mystery, EVERYTHING. It is SOOOO nifty! Now I gotta read the book.
I had an interesting conversation with my mom today. I was telling her about LJ, and she said it was a "waste of time." Of course, I wasn't articulating very well at the time, so I didn't explain very well about why I have an LJ, or why anybody else has one, for that matter. I had never really thought about it.
Why do we have LJs? Well, they're shiny and nifty, but that's not the only reason. They're relatively new (at least, to me), but that's not the reason either.
For me, I think the reason to have an LJ is communication. I mean, it's a chance to communicate with the world at large, to make yourself heard among a kazillion other voices. Even though I know that only a few people visit my LJ, I also know that those few people read what I say, understand what I'm feeling/writing at the time, and are paying attention. As a writer, that's all I want, really. I just want to communicate my thoughts and be understood. LJ is a great way to do that. I know that there are many other ways, but LJ works for me.
I guess that's all I have to say at the moment...and now, some Fun Tests!
