Mmm...stuff.
Aug. 22nd, 2003 07:46 pmToday has been a pretty good day, even though I didn't get as much done as I would have liked. For instance, I would have liked to work some more on my "Lady" picture. Ah, well. There's still time tonight.
What I did get done today:
1. Helped Alex sand the desk that shall be mine. We'll probably stain it next week.
2. Worked on plot for the next Swashbuckling Adventures session in the game I'm GMing. And there was much rejoicing. Those players won't catch me by surprise next time!
3. Called my mom. We had a very good conversation, and everything is great between us now. ^_^
What I still need to get done:
1. Help Alex sand and finish the floor downstairs. This must be finished by next Saturday (not tomorrow), as Jason is coming to visit and will have to sleep downstairs.
2. Help Alex clean house for the same reason.
3. Get Loki fixed.
4. Finish "Lady" picture.
5. Finish Swashbuckling Adventures plot for next session so that I don't run out of plot and have to improvise again. Improvising GM plots is scary, as you still have to remember everything for next time.
6. Work hard on "Deathworld" story. Work out last niggling plot details and actually start writing.
7. Help Alex catalogue all DVDs.
I think that's enough "To-Do" list for now. Yep. This is a common problem for me: I start writing down everything I need to do, and before I know it, the list is hopelessly long. Then I have to prioritize, and I hate doing that.
In other news, I've pretty much come to terms with Zypo and my mom. We had a great conversation today, and now both of us really know where the other is coming from. What was really scary was the realization that I wouldn't wish Zypo on any of my friends. He's my cat, and I love him dearly, but I do realize that he's not exactly "Mr. Fuzzykins." He requires...ah...extremely special handling. And that's a nice way of putting it. I told Mom about my offer to take Zypo in to the Humane Society myself, and she said she would definitely take that into consideration. She understands that it's hard for me to let go. *snugs Mom* I, on the other hand, understand that Mom has the right to live with a cat who won't savage her. *sheepish smile*
Well, I should probably help Alex make dinner now...bai!
EDIT:

You are Binky. Probably shouldn't mention
saddlesores.
What Discworld Animal Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla
Nay. ^_^

You are Death. You love to try new things and in
spite of your occupation, you're actually quite
fond of people. However, you don't get much of
a chance to talk to them outside of work, and
what's more, many people fear you. At least
you have the Death of Rats to keep you company.
Which Discworld Character Are You?

"CATS," Death said. "CATS ARE NICE."
Rincewind. You're cowardly, dishonest,
untrustworthy, and did I mention cowardly? You
run at the slightest hint of trouble. You've
saved the world once or twice, but mostly by
accident, so it doesn't really count. You have
a really cool pointy hat with
"WIZZARD" written on it, and there's
a little box with legs called the Luggage that
follows you around and eats people.
Which Discworld Protaganist Are You?

Again? I'm almost always Rincewind. Him or Death. Heh.
Greebo - Nanny Ogg's constant companion, when he's
not looking for something to fight or mate with
(possibly both). Has helped control the pest
population of Lancre by providing the last
twenty generations of cats.
Which Non-Human Discworld Sidekick Are You?

*snickers* This amuses me, especially as I was explaining to Alex that I have a "Nanny Ogg Complex" when it comes to Zypo. Nanny Ogg, in her mind, knows that Greebo is a horrific bully who terrorizes the neighborhood and everyone in it. In her heart, however, she still thinks of Greebo as the sweet little kitten he was when she first brought him home...
