OMG...ART!

elfie_chanI stayed up until 2:00 this morning working on this...pulled a Silvy. However, though this is, in my opinion, not as nice as Silvy's work, I'm still rather proud of it. Let's see if this works!

Elfie: *smacks Hakuho lightly* Hey, I'm the author! What I says goes! GOT IT?!
Hakuho: Eep!
So...questions? Comments? Suggestions for improvement? I think he may need a bit more shading, but I'm not sure. I'm hoping to do more of these of the other characters. My best art seems to happen late at night when I just don't care and I'm playing with a sketch. In other news, Alex called me this morning. His cell phone's been dead. It was SO wonderful to hear his voice...I've missed him so much. Okay, so it's only been three days since we talked to each other, but believe me, that's more than enough! I get to see him for lunch today! WAI!
Well, time to go and see about getting ready for school. If that link works, I'm uploading everything onto my freewebspace site, popups or no popups. Wheee!

EDIT II: Umm...apparently, Freewebspace decided that you have to copy and paste the addresses to see the pictures now, rather than letting me just direct-link. Evil. However, I still think it's probably better than Geosnitties...and they didn't catch me until the second day... Hrrrm... *thinks wicked thoughts*

Date: 2002-10-24 09:45 am (UTC)I like the picture. The colors work very well together, and his expression is very... well... expressive. The only suggestions I have are that his forehead seems a bit low - ( did you try sketching out the shape of his skull before adding the hair? It usually helps in visualizing where the contours should be ) - and that the feathers might look better with just a tad more sharpness and detail.
Other than that, it looks good. Like the thin golden border - frames the picture very nicely. :)

Date: 2002-10-24 03:07 pm (UTC)*nodnods* I did draw my usual little framework-thingy for Hakuho's face, though I agree that his proportions are a wee bit off in this one. Also, I don't know how to draw feathers. -_-;; That's why they're fuzzy...I didn't draw them in the original sketch. Must study more.
The funny thing is, this is just a quick-scanned sketch from my cheap little sketchbook, played with in Photoshop. I'm glad you like it, and thank you for the critique! That helps a lot! *triumphantly goes to do more art (well, after work, maybe)!*
Oh, and I agree...pulling a Silvy sounds painful. ^_~
