First of all, I'd just like to point out that chipmunks are NOT baby squirrels, no matter what the toy companies say to the contrary. Stupid people, misleading our country's youth with misinformation. *bashes with extreme prejudice*
Now that's out of the way...
Life continues to be blissful. Alex and I are getting into the swing of married life, including grocery shopping, paying bills, fitting our schedules together, and all that stuff. Right now, it's pretty easy, because I'm at home most of the day while he's at school. I just wish I didn't have so much paperwork to fill out, what with changing my name and address. I still have to send in a lot of it. Bah.
Married life is full of new experiences. It's different (and wonderful) to fall asleep next to Alex and wake up with him snuggled up next to me. It's great knowing that, at the end of the day, it's going to be just him and me at home. There's a kind of peacefulness to that thought that I like. It's not that I don't like other people, it's just nice knowing that home is still this peaceful place to come back to at the end of everything. It's also nice to be able to, essentially, do pretty much what I like. If I want to sit and read for an hour, I can. If I want to play on the Playstation, I can. If I want to eat chocolate, I can.
I had an artichoke for lunch yesterday. Yummy. Alex doesn't like artichokes, so I got to eat it all myself. Mmmmmmm.
I notice, as I look through my friends list, that
saraphina_marie has written MORE in her story! I am SO behind! Gah! If you haven't yet, check out her LJ and read that story. I can't remember what chapter she's on now, but the whole thing is really good. I laughed, I cried, it moved me, Bob. (Extra brownie points to all of you who know where that quote comes from!)
In other news, I may have some regular weekly writing time carved out. This may seem trivial to many of you, but to me, it's nothing short of a miracle. I went to school with Alex on Tuesday because I had some things I had to get sorted out there, and then I spent about 45 minutes in the coffee shop on campus, just reading and drinking chai. It was WONDERFUL...so peaceful and quiet. Alex has agreed to take me with him every Tuesday so I can have that quiet time in the coffee shop every week. I'm bringing a notebook next time so that I can actually get some of my projects going! HUZZAH!
And now, a random list. If you don't want to read it, don't.
1. Hot tubbing.
2. DDR (Actually, this is better to do naked, but only if you happen to have the private space to do so. Your clothes don't get sweaty that way, you see.)
3. Sleeping. (Just sleeping! Very comfy, actually, if you can manage to stay warm.)
4. Making breakfast (or any meal).
I may delete that list later, but it amuses me now.
Well, I'd better go and see about tackling some of that paperwork. Bah. Laterness!
