Whew. It's been a while since the last update, hasn't it? Lots has been going on here, mainly involved with settling in. Alex and I have been married for about two and a half months now, and everything is still wonderful. He's working on his final Japanese writing assignment now.
In the last few weeks, Alex and I have played disc golf (yesterday), gone to Alex's sister's wedding (last month), and worked hard on my comic. It's almost not just my comic anymore, even though I came up with the basic concept and the characters. Alex has been helping me a lot. And, of course, the people on whom most of the characters are based have their input, too. Anyway. Alex's sister, Marina, had a wedding that went off without a hitch, as far as I can tell. They've been dating for over eight years, and it was wonderful to see them finally get married. During the reception, they showed a slide show that Andy (Marina's new husband) had put together about their lives, separate and together. It had photos and music and all kinds of great stuff. That was probably my favorite part of the wedding. I also learned that, yes, you CAN swing dance to "Dancing Queen" by ABBA. You may not want to, but you can. (I actually thought it was fun. Alex hates ABBA, though. Heh.)
I haven't been doing as much writing in general lately as I'd like. I'm trying to get the plot for my comic basically nailed down, as well as sketch out the first few comics and see how it goes. Alex and I have big plans for this project. It's so wonderful to have a husband who I can sit down and talk with about these things. We work really well together.
Alex is also helping me with my first Game Mastering experience, which will probably start within the next couple of weeks. I need to do a lot of reading up and research on the D&D rules first so I'll know what I'm doing. I'm good at plot; he's good at the technical side. I'm sure everything will be fine. I'll be running a Swashbuckling Adventures game, so it should be lots of fun. I may also be participating in a Star Wars game soon...lots of gaming happening this summer.
Well, that should do it for now. Just letting you nifty people know that I haven't died or anything. Heh. Take care, and I'll try to update more often!
