elfie_chan: MY cup of tea! (Default)
Hi, everybody! First, I'd like to thank everybody for the large number of responses on the whole Max Collins: Art Pirate fiasco. Here's an update:

As well as alerting several artists (with the help of some nifty people both here and on the [livejournal.com profile] yerf community), I also reported Max to Angelfire. I was informed by Angelfire that they could only take action if the artists themselves (or their legal representatives) contacted Angelfire in person.

I just went and had a look at Max's site, just to check how things are going. The site itself is still up, but all the copyrighted art has been REMOVED! I don't know if Max finally saw the light, or whether Angelfire got so many reports that they finally took some action, but the plagarism is gone. THANK YOU, EVERYONE!

Here's a list of artists that I know of or have been informed by other people that their work had been plagarized by Max. I think their work deserves to be visited at the TRUE source!
1. Candy Palmer of Candy's Art Haven
2. Bevin Brand of Bevin's Art Emporium (I refuse to call it Vault of Crap, Bevin!)
3. [livejournal.com profile] croaky of Pass (on) the Poison, Please
4. Stephanie Lostimolo of Schoolbooks and Brimstone
5. [livejournal.com profile] mumumugen of denseminds.net
6. [livejournal.com profile] xiaolang of This here nifty Elfwood gallery
7. [livejournal.com profile] dustmeat of The Art of Megan Giles

And I guess that's the end of the Max Collins saga! Thank you for helping to strike a blow against plagarism!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled lives....
