A Glorious Moment to Share
Aug. 5th, 2002 01:11 amSome say that glorious moments are at the end of battles or at the climax of a great conflict, when acts of heroism are done and the day is saved by great men/women. Others say that glorious moments happen during adventures of great drama and so on.
I say, here is a moment more glorious still:
A warm best friend (sweetheart), reading aloud to you, while a small grey kitten runs laps through the kitchen and living room, pausing every so often to make sure you are still there. The page turns, and your beloved's voice blends wonderfully with the thump-thump of his heartbeat in your ear. All is snuggly and safe, and the kitten even comes up to visit you once in a while, playing with the pages and attempting to gnaw on the binding.
I've had a wonderful evening. Alex and I have decided to try reading to each other instead of watching television, as reading to one another is more interactive and somehow much more fulfilling for both of us. We're reading The Hobbit right now. I feel warm and loved and splendid in general. Tomorrow, jobhunting starts afresh. ^_^ G'night, everyone! Hope your dreams will be as sweet as mine.
