Life and the Resurrection of my Handspring
Apr. 2nd, 2002 11:40 pmIT'S ALIVE! Alex fixed my Handspring Visor, and it works and is all spiffy now! It turned out the batteries were bad batteries. I thought they were fully recharged, but they weren't. *insert self-deprecating silly noise here*
You know, it's rather interesting how attached I have become to that little piece of plastic. I mean, my Handspring Visor has as much memory on it as my very first laptop--8 MB. I have so much stuff on that Visor, and yet, I still have lots of memory to spare. It's so handy to have, and it stores my phone book, my appointment calendar, assignments, and so much more! The problem is that, if the Visor ever goes belly-up, I'm stuck. I have all the information on my computer and everything, but without the Visor, I don't have the information at my fingertips, as all information should be. ^_~ Is this a sign of the times? Is the rest of the world dependent on gadgets and computers? Well, obviously not in places that don't have lots of computers, but what about in the United States? Are we becoming so dependent on our computers that we become desperate if we can't access our address book or the internet 24/7? I know I get a little jittery if I don't get my 'net fix. Does the computer make my life better, or is it just a new addiction? Well, I think it makes my life better, because it allows me to communicate and exchange ideas with people all over the world. However, just like any other good thing, too much can be detrimental to relationships and your real life. Hey, finish reading this entry, and then go out and DO something! After you've done that, you may come back to your computer. As I keep reminding myself, there is life beyond the glowing computer screen. Just something to think about.
My friend, Ariana, ROCKS. I just think you should know that. Read her most recent journal entry (under my friends page), and you'll see what I mean. I agree with her, too...I, too, am a virgin, and I'm darned proud of it. It takes willpower and strength to remain a virgin. I have nothing against people who choose not to be, but don't pick on me or anybody else for our life choices. *nodnods* I think that was her main point. I like my friends for who they are, even if I don't always agree with what they do. I'm sure that goes both ways--my friends occasionally have trouble understanding why I do the things I do. But that's okay!
Enough of that, now. I think my writing is getting more awkward by the moment. I used to be a really good writer, but I am SO out of practice. With any luck, my Short Story Writing class will help. *sighs* But I digress again.
I'm in an extremely good mood right now. Alex and I just spent some time together, watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. There's something about classic Disney films that just makes me happy. Watching them with Alex makes me happier. My friends, love just changes everything. Everything is better with love. If you can find love, hang onto it, because it's the most fabulous thing in the world. Hang in there and hold out for true love. It exists, and it's wonderful. Accept no substitutes.
Well, this is a very ranty/ravy entry. Here I am, telling you what to do. Well, you don't have to do as I say. I'm merely She Who Must Be Obeyed. ^_~ Kidding! Like I said, I'm in a good mood.
I'm just babbling now. Time to go before you're all bored out of your skulls. Take care, until next time!
Good Night.
P.S. For those of you who care, here are some MORE QUIZZES!

Take the Dance Dance Revolution test!
I like DDR. I'm really bad at it, though.

Tall, dark, and RUGGEDLY handsome!
Umm...whatever.
