I am a strange, strange person.
Nov. 3rd, 2003 06:10 pmToday I wandered back to
tinuviel8994's LJ again today. The funny thing is that I'm not reading her LJ anymore. That's over and done with. I'm reading her Friends Page.
I find that other people's Friends Pages are really interesting. I originally checked out Thalia's because I wanted to see other people's reactions to what was going on. And you know what? There's some pretty interesting people in there. Many of them appear to be writers.
Maybe I'm just weird, but I like reading lots of people's LJs, even if I don't know them all that well. It's interesting to see what people say, what people do. Some people's LJs are blatantly fictional, while others chronicle the day-to-day doings of their authors. Anyway. No, I'm not a creepy person. I'm just fascinated by people.
In other news, stew is cooking. Yum...
I have three writing assignments due next Monday. I should be working on them now. I also got my first two papers back (from two different classes), and I got A's on 'em. Happy Elf. I don't know what I got on my midterm, though, and I have a Japanese oral presentation Wednesday (which I should be studying for) and a Japanese midterm Friday (which I should also be studying for). Bad homework-avoiding Elfie.
Instead of doing my writing assignments, I have been writing a story. It is a good story, or it will be, once it is written. I have two short scenes actually written out, and they already need editing. Ouch. My inner critic screams.
I also found some old fanfiction hidden away in my file cabinet. Double and triple ouch. Some of it is downright...embarrassing. Gah. Two stories, however, may be salvageable, though neither of them is complete. One is already typed up...and I'm debating about whether to post it. The question is: If I did post it, would anybody read it? It's the Labyrinth fanfiction I posted about before. Anybody? Anybody? Beuhler? Beuhler?
Oh, and go and read this: Fantabulous Leggosity! If you're sick of LotR Mary-Sues who fall in love with Legolas (and somehow hypnotize him into falling for them), you'll love this fic. I laughed. A lot. Read her parody scripts while you're at it. She's much funnier than I am.
And now, I think I'll post a QUIZ!
I am disturbed by the names...one now has weird associations for me, and they both sound too Tolkien for Harry-Potter-land. However, I love the idea of being the reincarnated soul of a rebellious archangel. *grins big* And a tiger! WAI! ^_^ Oh, and I would suffer in Slytherin. Cue ANGST!
Someone explain to me why I'm so obsessed with Mary-Sues? Maybe it's because Mary-Sues are my own downfall when it comes to fanfiction? Hrrrm...*ponders*
