Elfie's Camping Adventure!
Aug. 5th, 2003 07:09 pmWell, today was a good day. I've done a bunch of writing (well, mostly plot notes, but lots of those!) and a couple of nice pics, including a mechanic/pilot/faerie thingy. I need to do much more writing...but the story I'm currently working on is really coming together!
I've been doing a lot of surfing in Elfwood lately. Yesterday, I was so full of inspiration that I was afraid my head was going to explode. Yargh. I also hate it when my artistic aspirations far outreach my abilities. Must practice more. ^_^;;
And now, ELFIE'S CAMPING ADVENTURE!
Last weekend, Alex, my mother, my father, my brother, and I went on a lovely camping trip to the Oregon Coast. At least, we thought it was going to be lovely. Little did we know the obstacles that awaited us...
First of all, we packed up all our gear (happy happy) and wandered down the road to our usual camping spot on the coast. We usually go there because the campground doesn't take reservations. Unfortunately, the campground decided that they needed to take reservations this year, and we didn't have one. The campground was full, so we had to wander off somewhere else to try to find another camping spot. We drove to several campgrounds up and down the coast, but all of them were full! Finally, we managed to find a spot in a campground a few miles inland. We got a good camping spot--the only problems involved not having water nearby (we missed the sound of the river--the sound of the highway is no substitute) and the packs of children on bikes that were literally everywhere. Ah, well. We managed to have a fun and relaxing time anyway. I got a lot of embroidery and lucet weaving done, so I was even (*gasp*) productive! Besides that, I got to talk and relax with my family and husband. It was wonderful. Of course, it was hard to come home. Work awaited us there. Some of it is done now, but much more awaits.
Meh. I miss my friends. I love my husband. *snuggles husband* He's playing The Curse of Monkey Island. He's having fun.
Well, it's time to go and finish roleplaying now. ^_^
