Still on the Honeymoon...
Mar. 28th, 2003 06:55 pmHee. Alex is playing with the PS2, which means I get to update my LJ.
This has been a wonderful first week. I love being a married woman. We just got back from "Honeymoon: Take 1" at the coast at Inn at the Otter Crest. We spent a few days there, just relaxing and enjoying being married (and all that goes with it! ^_~). Life is grand, spiffy, fabulous, WONDERFUL. We couldn't take a real honeymoon (i.e. two weeks of wedded bliss with just the two of us doing whatever we want with no real responsibilities) because Alex has to go back to school in a couple of days. I get to start at the U of O in the fall. WHEE! We're taking a real honeymoon in the summer.
This is amusing: The Inn at the Otter Crest is one of my parents' favorite relaxing spots, too. They apparently wanted to get away for a little while to recover from all the wedding chaos. When Alex and I heard that they were going to the Inn, both of us were a little wary...but we decided we could avoid them if we wanted to. Nothing against my parents or anything; it's just that we were on our honeymoon. Well, we decided that everything would be fine as long as my parents weren't right next door or anything. Guess what--they were. It was hilarious. They gave us a call the day they arrived (yesterday) to find out if we wanted to have dinner with them. They also gave us the option of avoiding them without offending them, and then they gave us their room number--right next door. Ironic. It was still fine--the rooms at the Inn are very private and well-insulated.
For those who want to know, the wedding went beautifully. There were no disasters, everyone looked great, Alex and I both remembered our lines for the most part, and nobody dropped the rings. Everything went smoothly. I cried, though. Thank God I didn't wear makeup. I'll post pictures here when we get them, if anybody wants to see.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go and get Alex off the PS2 so we can go to dinner. I'm starved!
Love to you all; I'll update again next week.
