Updates from Washington
Sep. 1st, 2002 09:49 amWell, here I am in Washington. So far, it's been fun--we went biking yesterday, and then we took a walk on the (windy, misty) coast. I also had my first ride in a jeep with no top. T'was fun, but I think I should wear a bandanna or something next time. My hair went absolutely EVERYWHERE.
I've done some writing this weekend, as well, invented a new society, and wrote more about a culture I'd already developed. This world is HUGE, and it doesn't have a name. Hrm. Must turn some thought to that.
The guys (Alex and Jason) have been talking about biking and cars most of the weekend, and I can only understand about 1/100th of what they say. But that's okay--I'm learning. So far, this is what I've learned:
1. Plastic brake parts are stupid.
2. Fords blow up.
3. Guys on car shows are insaaaaaane.
The rest of it has been a gobbeldygook of "torque," "turbochargers," and lots of other stuff. They're very patient about explaining things to me, but I still feel like I'm at the level of "Me drive car. Car go VROOM!"
Liz (Jason's significant other) isn't here at the moment. She's off in a tiny, tiny town learning about motorcycle safety. She'll be here tonight, though, and then we'll talk about something else. Heh. Actually, we've also been talking about anime and Star Wars, so it's okay. ^_^
Maybe I'll work on my webpage next week. I've GOT to get that up and running,as I've been saying for the past...what? Year, maybe? Gah. o.o;;
Well, must scoot. And now, some quizzes!
