Have you ever put powdered sugar through a sifter and watched it fall?

That's what it looks like outside right now.

The snow isn't sticking, and it's quickly turning back into rain, but we've now had our first snow of the season. I wish I didn't have to go to school today. I'd much rather sit here in my bathrobe, sip my latte, and watch the weather. It doesn't help that the fact that there is snow tells me that it's freakin' cold.

It was so difficult to get out of bed this morning. I had a bad dream last night (I can't even remember it now, but it was scary), and I couldn't get back to sleep for about fifteen minutes. For some reason, this tiny break in my sleep schedule translated into fifteen minutes of napping after the alarm went off. I suppose that's a fair trade.

The term continues its inexorable march toward Winter Break, and I'm actually pretty pleased with where I am right now. I have a 7-8 page paper due this Thursday, and I wrote almost three pages within an hour last night. I figure that, if I spend about an hour or two on it tonight, I should have it done early. *SHOCK!* I never finish papers early, especially if they're research papers. I usually wait until the night before they're due and spend hours and hours agonizing over a paper that will, at best, get a C+. This paper will, at least, be off my mind before the due date, and I'll get a good night's sleep the night before for once.

After that, I have a 6-7 page paper due a week from today. That one should be more fun--I have to write something in imitation of one of the poets we've studied this term, then write an explanation of why my work successfully imitated the poet in question. I think I also have to read a few more articles critiquing my chosen poet, but I think that should be fine. Then I have three finals next week, two of which are at 8:00 am. *blehs* Why do my instructors not understand that I do not function at 8:00 am? Ah, well. With luck, such a thing will never happen again. I must study this weekend, in any case. My most difficult class (Medieval Manuscripts) has its final on Monday at 8:00 am. Yeeeeecccccchh.

A week from Wednesday, I'll be done. I've been looking at the Medieval Studies offerings for the next two terms, and I am highly encouraged. It looks like I'll easily be able to get the credits I need and have fun doing it. Right now, I'm looking at a class on "Medieval Holy Women" (rock!) and another one on "Men, Women and the Chivalric Ideal in Medieval Literature and Song." There are others that sound fascinating, but these sound most interesting.

And now, having babbled about the end of term (since that's what's most on my mind at the moment), I must go and dress myself so that I will be presentable for class. Further updates will come later.
