I had my hair dyed again, and boy, is it RED! Photos will be posted as soon as I can get Alex to take a photo of me. We're going to the Harry Potter Hallows Ball at Borders on the 20th, and guess who I'm dressing up as?

Ginny Weasley, of course.

In other news, I am going to have to design my own purse. I can't find anything that fits my exacting specifications:

1. The purse must have a black leather exterior and strap for durability.
2. The strap must be wide enough to not cut in when I sling it over my shoulder.
3. The purse needs to mainly lie against my back, not bounce on my hip.
4. The purse must have an organizer to put all of my credit cards, punch cards for coffee, ID, etcetera in. (Admittedly, I could go out and buy this organizer--that would be acceptable.)
5. The purse must have a compartment on the outside for my cell phone.
6. The purse must be large enough to carry essentials (including a small knitting project), but not be a messenger bag or a backpack.
7. The purse must have interior pockets for pens, a small notebook, and my assorted electronic bits (iPod, Palm).
8. The purse must look elegant enough to carry to a meeting, to teaching, and out on the town. The purse does not have to be elegant enough for the ballet or the opera--I have a clutch for those purposes.
9. The purse must be fully lined, preferably with a fabric through which it will be difficult for DPNs to poke.
10. The purse should be equally comfortable slung messenger-style across my body or simply hanging from my shoulder.

It is difficult to find a purse like this. The closest thing that I have found is my English Heritage pack, and that is hardly elegant. It works for now, but I think I shall have to give creating my own purse some serious thought. I have the leather, the fabric (I think), and the industrial sewing machine. Now, all I have to do is design it, cut it out, and sew it up. Another project for the files...

Next time (I hope): Sock Saga, Black Sheep Gathering, and Thoughts on Knitting for the World.
